The Elementary Education program offers an undergraduate degree with specialty areas in a number of teaching concentrations for the preparation and development of the professional educator.
The program strives to prepare the very best entry level teachers for all of New Mexico's children; such preparation is enriched by the diverse, contrastive linguistic and cultural communities of the region. The program also takes advantage of the many professional partnerships that the College holds with school districts and their teaching faculties.
Core rules for admission are outlined in the general guidelines for the College of Education. Students are encouraged to begin the admission process of 26 hours of course work. There is a core set of General Education requirements necessary for Elementary Educators.
Once approved by the Elementary Education program, sign-in at the Field Service Portal each semester to complete field experience requirements.
