New Mexico teacher licensure and teacher education degree programs

UNM Home | UNM Directory

Welcome to the Department of Teacher Education at University of New Mexico (UNM). The UNM Teacher Education Programs prepare students to apply to the New Mexico Department of Education for licensure. Students entering the program are typically either "degree seeking" undergraduates or "licensure only" graduates who have previously earned baccalaureate degrees.

In the Teacher Education Programs, we support the UNM mission to provide quality undergraduate education to the residents of New Mexico. We provide one of the largest and best teacher education programs in the state to a diverse group of future teachers. As a student, you will have the opportunity to learn from highly qualified educators in professional education and content area studies, as well as from experienced public school teacher practitioners.
